Terms of use

These terms apply when you use the free tools on Offcut Tools, and using the site means you accept them.

The tools

The tools on this site are free, and you don't need an account to use them. They run in your browser and process your files on your device (see the privacy notice). We may change, improve or remove any tool at any time.

Your files and your rights

You are responsible for the files you open with the tools and for what you do with the results. Only use files you have the right to use, such as your own footage, subtitles you made or are licensed to edit, and LUTs whose license allows it. Converting or editing a file doesn't change who owns it or what its license allows.

The tools don't change the files on your disk; they create new files as downloads. Keep your originals and check every result before you rely on it.

What you can do with the output

Files the tools create from your input are yours to use, subject to any rights attached to your input files. You may use the guide and overlay images the tools draw for you, such as the safe-zone overlays and crop guides, in your own projects, personal or commercial.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, to attack or overload it, or to get around its security measures.

No warranty

The tools and the information on this site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Information such as safe-zone margins and steps for other programs is checked on the dates shown and can go out of date. We don't promise that the tools will be free of errors or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site's owner is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising from your use of the site or the tools. Because the tools are free, the owner's total liability for any claim connected with the site is limited to the amount you paid to use them, which is nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as your local law permits.

Trademarks

TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and CapCut are trademarks of their owners, and other product names on this site may be trademarks of their owners too. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Their names are used only to describe what the tools work with.

Paid products

Everything on this site is free to use, and there are no paid products. If a paid product is ever offered, its terms will be published here before it goes on sale.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date on this page shows the current version, and using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova.
